The Heywaver app collects nothing. What you type stays on your iPhone unless you choose to share it.
The app
What we collect
Nothing. Heywaver has no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. It never uses your microphone, camera, location or contacts, and it doesn’t send anything to us.
Where your words are kept
Your name, your intro, the cards you type and save, your modes and your settings are stored on your iPhone. Like everything else on your phone, they’re included in your iPhone’s own backup if you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer. We never see them.
Sharing a card
When you choose Share as image, Heywaver makes a picture of the card with your words, your name if you’ve set one, and “Sent with heywaver.com”. It goes only where you send it, like Messages or AirDrop, and the app you send it with handles it from there. Heywaver doesn’t keep a copy or send one to us.
Photos
If you save a card as an image, iOS asks once to let Heywaver add it to your Photos. Heywaver can only add images. It can’t see your photos.
Speaking aloud
When you tap Speak, your iPhone’s built-in voice reads the card out loud. It works offline, and the text isn’t sent to us.
Numbers from Apple
Apple gives every developer combined numbers, such as how many people downloaded the app. If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple also sends us anonymous usage numbers and crash reports. These come from Apple, not from Heywaver, and they don’t tell us who you are.
Deleting your data
In Heywaver, tap Settings on the Hub, then Help and privacy, then Delete all data. It erases your name, intro, saved cards, modes and settings, and it can’t be undone. Deleting the app does the same. Card images you saved stay in Photos until you delete them there, and an older iPhone backup keeps what was on your phone when it was made.
Children
The app collects nothing from anyone, including children.
This website
heywaver.com has no analytics, no ads and no tracking cookies. It doesn’t follow you to other sites and lets no one else track you here, so it treats every visit the same whether or not your browser sends Do Not Track.
If you sign up, you give us your name and email address. We use them to tell you when Heywaver is on the App Store and to send tips and updates. They’re stored with our email provider, Mailchimp. If we invited you to test before launch, your name and email are also in Apple’s TestFlight, which sent the invite. While you test, TestFlight shares crash reports and any feedback you choose to send. We never sell your details or share them with anyone else. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time.
Like any website, our web host keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the site. Everything else on the site, fonts included, loads from heywaver.com itself. The sign-up form sends what you type straight to Mailchimp.
We don’t knowingly collect details from children under 13. If a child has signed up, email us and we’ll delete them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
